Iteration Planning Meeting (IPM)
Iteration lengths should be consistent. I favor weekly iterations.
Two-week iterations are fine. Month-long iterations are a bit long, even though I know they’re the Scrum default.
The basic structure I use:
- 1-2 hour meeting
- Start with a call for news, questions, etc.
- Share any news (customers, company, etc.)
- Review previous iteration’s stories; demo when appropriate
- Review current iteration stories (tasks)
- Brief review of backlog for release or pending iterations
